it was embarrassing for zabaletta all game yesterday - and it wasnt just about " pace" vs zaha - positionally, presence, possession- continually poor, all game long- even when we doubled up on zaha

Second half , they switched their tactics ( see what they did there!?) and put much more down our left side, which exposed creswell in the same manner and guess what, we had no reaction or switch.

How many times did we pass the ball around in front of their goal and not overlap, shoot or attempt to go through? exactly the same as vs arsenal - 10-15 minutes when the game was there to be won and we just fizzle out

useless cunst

They didn't mug us off by winning at all, they deserved to win. More possession, a hundred more successful passes, more shots, more corners.

We are a very poor side, who are going down under this manager. They needed to pull the trigger months ago, as was obvious to all apart from the disturbed weirdos Mex and Sajmo.

There was one point when Noble tried to overlap. Snodgrass, who was on the ball, ignored him and overhit it to I think Cresswell, and the move died.

I didn't even laugh.

75k per player, per point earned this season.

What an utter joke of a club.

I thought we were beaten by a better organised, fitter, though not very good side
Palace deserved to win just on the clear cut chances they created alone. It could have been much worse
I never for one moment expected us to hold on to our goal lead, scored against the run of play
The only good thing about the game from our point of view was our absolutely fantastic fans, who deserve much much better!

I thought a draw would have probably be fair, but Palace mugged us off again.

Saying that, we had so little pace about the team. We must have had 5 outfield players over 30, and of the younger players, Rice, Haller and Fornals aren’t the fastest. No one was getting on the overlap.

I feared the worse when I saw Roberto’s name on the teamsheet, but to be fair he did ok. Apart from a few flappy moments, he made a decent save but that should have been given offside anyway.

Everything about this game was typical West Ham. Two goalkeepers out injured, Two right backs either suspended or injured so we have to play a 50 year old against Zaha. Our most in form player crashes his car into someone’s wall the day before. We gift 3 points in the 88th minute after leading the game.

Just seen the motd highlights, any other team would've given Ayew a little trip or barge on his way through and ended up with a draw. We are not only crap, we are also nowhere near cynical enough.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Those still saying Rice was in any way to blame based on highlights are missing how much time he was having to cover for Zabaleta and thus pulled out of position.
The team picked was asking to be beaten, heavily.
The only surprise out of yesterday was that Roberto was actually not to blame. That said, CP fired only four or so shots at him and hit home with two.

Adrain - OUT
Replaced by Roberto and Martin (on the cheap)

You forgot your brackets after Adrian, i'll fill it for you

Adrian - (free transfer)

You see, nothing to do with cheap, just poor recruitment by the manager and his scouting network.

Watched the game on my device in the back row of Bath City's stand (Vanarama league) have to say was nice to be in a proper football ground even though attendance wasn't more than 2000 it seemed a better vibe then the BOWL.
Fortunes always hiding :-(

Buying Fornals is maybe forgivable.

Failing to replace Obiang and relying so heavily on Rice is just shit management.

Yes, I haven’t given up on Pellegrini, bizarre as it seems. I still think if someone had just convinced Adrian to stay, the season would not have fallen apart. It’s all very sad though and I imagine you’ll are get your New Year wish and you can all tell me I’m a cunt and you told me so. Fair enough.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Slightly bizarre that Mex hasn’t given up on Pellers when the man himself has already given up.
His rallying cry yesterday was to blame the players for not concentrating and to ‘hope’ we might start winning.
He has checked out of the West Ham Hotel and is just waiting for his taxi.

Although of course you fail to point out the £25 million or so wasted by the manager on signing Fornals, it's nothing to do with getting what you pay for, it's about scouting decent players that fit into a system that the manager wants to play and getting them at the right price, but when your goalkeeper is the player of the year and you do not sign a single defender or central midfielder to try and rectify that problem instead signing another player in Fornals thats an attacking midfielder and not filling a position of need them that's on the managers head and then after Christmas your sitting 17th in the table it's unreal how anyone could back him, unless of course your type of guy that goes against everyone else's opinions just so on the odd occasion they get a win you can start screaming I told you so, when in reality 99% of the time you mug yourself off.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I had no problem with the players we moved on.
We just didn’t replace them or replaced them with worse players.

Arnautovic, Carroll, Hernandez & Perez - OUT
Replaced by Haller & Ajeti

Kouyate & Obiang -OUT
Replaced by Sanchez & Wilshere

6 players out and 1 that is capable of appearing on the pitch comes in.
Wilshere will never play & the other two are never used as they aren’t anywhere near good enough.

Mex Martillo 9:27 Fri Dec 27
Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Your right the problem is a no depth in the squad. We got rid of a lot of players that were not quite good enough, but not replacing them has left us like this, an injury or loss of form by a key player is proving disastrous. And the need to rely on older players that have more fight and professionalism.
Perhaps not tomorrow, but I still expect to see a gradual improvement with Fabianski returning.

saw the team sheet and couldn’t be arsed to sneak out of work and watch. We were busy at work in any case so it passed me by anyway. Can’t think of a time in years that I would have missed the Boxing Day football. Partly through Being in the US and partly the repeated cycles of not learning from mistakes and reverting to being shit we have to endure, I guess just find myself giving less of a shit nowadays, which on reflection is sad.
